Ok - so it was a project that took me maybe 20 minutes to do (and I finished two of them), but the point is that it IS possible to stop pinning and actually make something! ;)
The original idea came from this pin.
This is what I came up with.
The goal is to have our 5th graders make these sometime in the next month or so. (Although at this time we don't have much snow...) I'll try to take pictures of their creations - assuming I remember my camera! We are even talking about making this a two-day event. The first to "paint" and the second to decorate our snowman. =) We'll see if our schedules allow for that much time...
I was not entirely sure of what to expect with this project. I guess I expected more of a mess, but this was easy! To be totally honest - I would even do this with the Kinders I had last year.
You simply need equal parts liquid glue and shaving cream. Then get some construction paper and a paintbrush. (Although I am willing to bet you could do this as a finger painting...)
It even cleans up pretty easily! Although I'm sure it would be trickier if you let it set too long and dry on the brush...
A few "tips" for this project:
- make sure you have plenty of time for it to dry! (mine was still wet 12 hours later)
- you can slab the "snow" on thick or thin, but I think thick has a cooler look
- little cups would make clean-up a breeze
Good luck! Let me know what Pinterest projects you are actually completing, or at you just a "pinner"?
