6th Grade Readers & A SALE!

Let me be honest for a minute. When I first heard I had been hired for a 6th grade position, I was a little nervous... Yes, I taught 5th grade last year, but I had it in my head that these guys wouldn't love me. The fact that 6th grade is often middle school intimidated me a bit.


There are definitely days where I struggle with the ups and downs of middle school attitudes, behaviors, etc. However, I have come to realize that kids are kids no matter the age!


One of my favorite parts of 6th grade is that they still write me notes! I actually have a wall where I display little notes, pictures, etc. Here are a couple of my favorites!

Now - these notes are from one of my students who openly stated at the beginning of the year that she "hated" reading. Now she runs up to me daily to tell me about the book she's reading. She doesn't read a ton, but a LOT more than she used to! I <3 that part of my job!
