American Education Week - fun gifts for the staff!

American Education Week is Nov. 11-17, 2012. Every school I've been at has always done a little something for the teachers. This year when I heard my new school did activities, but not treats, I decided to spearhead that department! {P.S. What was I thinking? I'm in the middle of coaching! Trying to keep up with blogging, TpT, teaching a new grade level, and coaching wasn't enough?! Oh well, it's been fun! :) }

{I obviously haven't yet added the goodies in the picture above!
Can you tell what I'll be doing this weekend?)

Thankfully I had two wonderful ladies who agreed to help me brainstorm ideas and carry out my idea! Here it is:

Monday - bring in cookies to lounge with a note saying "Thanks for 'chipping' in your time for our students!"

Tuesday - lifesaver note with candy for each individual staff member "You're a lifesaver!"

Wednesday - apple goodies in the teachers' lounge with a note saying "You're the apple of our student's eye!"

Thursday - Tootsie Roll note with candy for each individual staff member "Your help puts our students on a roll!"

Friday - Crunch bar note with candy for each individual staff member "Thanks for helping our students in a crunch!"

We are a nut free school so we had to be careful with what candies we used. We have two school buildings in our district, so - as you can see in the pictures - I printed two "trifolds" so each lounge can enjoy the cookies and apples. We also printed out 60 labels so every staff person (school board included!) can each get one of the individual treats.

Here's a little freebie that you can use to do these same activities in your school. There are five sheets - one for each day of the week. The notes for Monday and Wednesday are meant to sit next to the goodies. The notes for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are supposed to be cut out and given directly to staff members. What a great way to celebrate education - even if only among your teammates!
