Modeling Plate Tectonics with Food!

This is such a creative idea! I wish I could say that it's one I came up with, but it actually belongs to one of my colleagues down the hall. Luckily there was enough food that she asked my class to come in to watch the presentations and enjoy some of the feast! Check these out!

The ideas with this one are endless! One student has severe allergies to peanuts, eggs, milk, and other things - so she actually shared some recipes that were safe for her to eat. Other students created jello, rock candy, cakes, brownies, and so much more! It was fun to see what all they are capable of creating!

My colleague had her students grade one another's projects and their own. Saved her grading time!

Let me know about some exciting ideas you've done in the classroom. We'll be continuing our Earth Science unit after the holiday break. Any ideas I have to try?
