Listed below are some of the questions I have been asked in interviews that have thrown me for a bit of a loop.
- If your students were describing you, what would they say?
- Tell me about a lesson that did not go the way you planned. How did you handle it?
- How do you motivate your students to learn? What do you do with reluctant learners?
- Do you have any questions for me? (Hopefully you did your homework and have at least 1-2 questions here!)
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a colleague. How did you resolve it?
- What do you expect of me as an administrator?
- Tell me about an issue you have had and how you have resolved it.
- If you could be any candy bar, what would you be and why? (A friend of mine was truly asked this in a teacher interview!)

Here are some typical teacher interview questions.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why should we hire you for this position instead of the other candidates?
- What is your biggest weakness?
- What is your teaching philosophy?
- If I walk into your room, what will I see?
- How have you communicated with parents/families in the past? When would you feel the need to communicate?
- Tell me how you think students learn.
- What are your long-term teaching goals? Or - where do you expect to be in 10-20 years?
- What do you know about (insert curriculum here).
- Why do you want to teach in this school?
- How do you handle student discipline? Or - what is your classroom management style?

In my experience, I am normally asked 15-20 questions. Then I am given time to do the asking. (Make sure you have at least 1-2 questions to ask, but I have had up to 10!) And finally I am normally offered a school tour.
